Would You Be Made Whole?

When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” John 5:6

First, Jesus acknowledged the man was there…Secondly, He recognized that he’d been in the present condition a long time. Finally, He asked that man this question… would you like to be made whole? Jesus saw the hopeless condition and offered to give him hope. Jesus was the hope that the man desperately needed. He is the hope that we desperately need as well.  It was not Christ desire or His will that this man be in bondage any longer. It is not His will for us today either. So, He’s standing asking the exact question --will thou be made whole? Will you allow the finish work on the cross to make you into the WO (Man) God intended us to become? Would you enter into a personal relationship with Him? Would you dare to be courageous and take up your bed and finally walk (not blaming anyone) as a whole person? Would you forgive and repent of all that has alienated (separated) us for the life of God, would you be made whole?  If so, there is another step to take, verbally respond to the question, hopefully with a YES….I WILL BE MADE WHOLE!!!
This was a question that I had to ask myself in the past, and my response is yes, yes and YES. When life happens (and it will) that is not the time to sit around and point the finger or play the blame game, or even waddle in self-pity. As Christ reveals the area in our lives that He wants to heal, allow it to be so. Don’t hold back and pretend that you are already “made whole’, when your heart is still breaking or disappointed or rejected over whatever the case may be. If you are already “healed’ –thank God for His amazing grace. If not, accept and allow the finish work on the cross to be applied in your life and be made whole. He is still asking that question today.
